Legal Assistant
Job Description
Overview:
We are accepting applications for a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to join our temporary staff. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a working knowledge of legal procedures and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, proofread, and file legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, and correspondence

Maintain and organize case files, legal records, and calendars

Assist with client communication, scheduling meetings, and managing attorney calendars

Conduct legal research and gather relevant case materials when required

File documents with courts and government agencies (electronically or in person)

Manage deadlines and track case progress

Perform general administrative duties such as answering phones, processing mail, and ordering office
Job Requirements
Qualifications:

Associate degree or certificate in legal studies or related field preferred

2–4 years of experience as a legal assistant or in a legal office environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management systems

Familiarity with legal terminology, procedures, and court systems

Excellent time management and attention to detail

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
