Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Draftsperson to join our client's local interior design team. The Draftsperson will be responsible for producing accurate construction drawings, technical documentation, and design development packages that support residential, commercial, and hospitality interior design projects. This role works closely with interior designers and contractors to translate design concepts into precise, buildable plans.
Key Responsibilities:
-Prepare detailed construction documents, floor plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, and custom millwork drawings.
-Convert conceptual design sketches and specifications into accurate technical drawings.
-Develop and maintain drawing sets throughout all project phases, from schematic design through construction administration.
-Ensure drawings comply with applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, and industry standards.
-Assist with space planning, furniture layouts, finish plans, and detailing as required.
-Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before client or contractor issuance.
-Update and revise drawings based on client feedback, design changes, and site conditions.
-Participate in project coordination meetings and support project documentation efforts.
-Maintain organized digital project files and drawing standards.
Qualifications
-Diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, Drafting, or a related field.
-2 5 years of drafting experience within an interior design, architecture, or design-build environment.
-Proficiency in VectorWorks required.
-Experience with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office is an asset.
-Strong understanding of construction documentation, detailing, and interior building systems.
-Knowledge of materials, finishes, furniture specifications, and millwork construction.
-Familiarity with building codes and accessibility standards.
-Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
-Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
-Strong communication and collaboration skills.
