Accountant - Bastrop
Job Description
Our client is a prominent real estate and development owner with multiple land development projects in Bastrop, including event spaces and a number of downtown Bastrop properties. As the portfolio continues to grow, the company is seeking an on-site Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations and enable leadership to focus on broader strategic initiatives. Strong preference to local candidates: Bastrop, Elgin, etc. The Accountant will oversee full-cycle accounting functions across multiple real estate, construction, and property-related entities. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to take ownership of their work. This role requires strong communication skills, professional curiosity, and the ability to thrive in a small, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle accounting across multiple business entities

Prepare and analyze Profit & Loss statements and other financial reports

Maintain the General Ledger, including journal entries and reconciliations

Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

Perform job costing and project-based accounting for construction and development activities

Support real estate, property management, and land development accounting processes

Assist with tax-related tasks and coordination with external tax professionals (experience preferred)

Utilize accounting software (Data Pro and QuickBooks) to maintain accurate records

Support additional operational tasks as needed across the organization
Job Requirements
Qualifications
-
Solid full-cycle accounting experience (3-4 years)

Strong understanding of P&L, GL, AP/AR, and job costing

Experience in construction and/or real estate accounting strongly preferred

Familiarity with property management accounting a plus

CPA certification a plus, but not required

Tax experience preferred

Proficiency with QuickBooks and/or Data Pro (training available, but familiarity is beneficial)

Tech-savvy and comfortable adapting to new tools and processes
